Visiting Shanghai

Garth recently had a short stay in Shanghai, a long established market city at the delta of the Yangtze River and which now has a population of over 25 million. In the downtown area the Bund is a new elevated walkway that is flanked by refurbished “heritage’ buildings from the pre-war era and overlooks the new collection of iconic buildings on the Pudong side of the tributary. The city is styling itself on being the New York of the east – and seems to be on track, albeit a fast one.
