The world-class Wānaka Health Precinct is a joint venture between Roa and Kā Rūnaka (represented by Puketeraki Ltd and Ōtākou Ltd) and is transformative healthcare project in the South Island. Reset provided specialist urban design and landscape architectural services for the Resource Consent application. The consent is for a five-level surgical hospital and helipad, supported by four purpose-designed buildings for allied medical services, on-site car parking and an extensive public realm. Set on a 1.3ha site in Three Parks, this isn’t just a healthcare development, it’s a place designed for people. A place to gather, to heal, to breathe.
Our landscape and urban design vision focuses on:
- Biophilic planting to support wellbeing, biodiversity and kai
- Reflective water features and sustainable water systems
- Calm, meandering paths with bridges and green pockets for rest
- Spaces for events, art, connection and cultural expression
- Deep collaboration with Aukaha Mana Ahurea team to embed stories of place
