The eagerly anticipated Takapuna Winter Lights Festival returns this year, promising to captivate and inspire visitors with a dazzling display of art and culture and Reset are very proud to be a key sponsor of this event.

The first major event to take place in the new public vibrant plaza, Waiwharariki Anzac Square, developed by Eke Panuku, is set to transform Takapuna into a vibrant hub of creativity.

From July 25 to July 28, 5-10pm, 2024, attendees can immerse themselves in interactive art installations, live performances, and captivating music across multiple evenings. Renowned light artist Angus Muir returns as festival curator, bringing his acclaimed expertise to enhance the sensory experience for all. Muir returns to Auckland after exhibiting at the renowned Vivid Sydney and LUMA Queenstown Light Festivals.

Muir expresses enthusiasm for this year's event, stating, "Takapuna Winter Lights continues to evolve as a beacon of creativity and community spirit. We've curated an array of surprises and delights to ensure an unforgettable experience for families and individuals alike."

Building on the success of previous editions, the festival aims to attract over 50,000 visitors this year, further enriching the local community and surrounding businesses.

Terence Harpur, CEO of the Takapuna Beach Business Association, highlights the festival's social and economic significance, emphasising its role in fostering a vibrant local atmosphere.

“An array of captivating experiences awaits attendees, including large scale light sculptures, immersive light environments and out of this world performers. We also welcome  the return of music performances by students from Takapuna Grammar, and artwork from four local primary schools and Early Learning Centre students, that promises to enchant audiences of all ages. The event is a huge boost to our local economy, drawing in thousands of people from around NZ who spend in our local businesses”.

Takapuna Winter Lights Festival remains committed to accessibility, offering free admission to all attendees. Festival-goers can explore the enchanting displays through Waiwharariki Anzac Square, Potters Park and Hurstmere Green at their leisure, with an array of eateries, restaurants, food trucks and beverages available to enhance the experience.

Takapuna Winter Lights is made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Takapuna Beach Business Association, Auckland Council, SILO, AMD, Go Media, Barfoot and Thompson, Mercury and their incredible funding partners Aotearoa Gaming Trust, Four Winds, Foundation North, One Foundation, Pub Charity and The Lion Foundation.
